Yesterday (April 22, 2019) a press conference was held to update the public on the progress of the investigation into the murders of Abby Williams and Libby German. You can read my original piece on the case here and the press conference youtube video here.

Key information from the press conference:

Indiana state police believe Abby and Libby’s killer is ‘hiding in plain sight’

Superintendent Douglas Carter, who gave the press conference, said police are now looking for the driver of a vehicle that had been parked at the DCS office in Delphi, later found between noon and 5 p.m. on Carroll County Road 300 North, near the Hoosier Heartland Highway. No further details have been released, apart from where the vehicle was parked; we do not know the color, make/model or licence number.

More audio has been released, an extension of the original audio of the suspect saying ‘down the hill’. The audio was recorded on Libby’s cellphone. It sounds as though the new word is ‘Guys’ and then ‘down the hill’ but the audio quality is not the best.

Video of the ‘bridge guy’ walking on the bridge was also released. Supt. Carter asked that the public pay close attention to his mannerisms as he walked. He is looking down as he walks as there are large gaps between the slats that make up the abandoned Monon High Bridge.

The most important new information is the updated sketch. Supt. Carter said of the suspect:

"We also believe this person is from Delphi, currently or has previously lived here, visits Delphi on a regular basis or works here. We believe this person is between the age range of 18 and 40, but may appear younger than his actual age."

The person in the new sketch is now their primary suspect. The previous sketch is secondary to the new one.
